Overdraft Protection

As a standard part of BTFCU's Share Draft (Checking) Accounts, you have Overdraft Protection. Should your Share Draft balance go below zero, our system will automatically transfer funds as needed from your Share (Savings) Account (assuming sufficient funds are available in the Share Account--members must maintain a balance of at least $110 in their Share Account).

This service is provided at no extra charge for you, with the following exception: Should the amount which would need to be transferred bring the member's Share Account balance below $110, funds would not be transferred and the member would be charged a $25 per check overdraft fee.

NOTE: Federal Regulations only allow six transfers per month from a share (savings) account to a share draft (checking). Why? Read more…

BTFCU also offers an Overdraft Line of Credit, which, instead of pulling funds from your Share Account, draws from a pre-established line of credit. You must apply and be approved for this service in advance. Click here for more information about Overdraft Line of Credit.
