Making Money?
What's the Recipe?
We often hear adults talk about making money. Making money is another way to say "earning money."
If someone would actually try to make money, that is, if they tried to make a paper dollar by taking
paper and making it look like a real dollar, they would be breaking the law.
U.S. currency can only be made by a division of the U.S. Treasury. If you try to make it illegally,
it would be called counterfeit money.
Currency or paper money is made by the U. S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Money is made by
engraving (or cutting designs into) metal plates. Ink is applied to the plates. The plates are then
pressed onto a special paper.
