In an effort to protect our members, we now require members to submit a change of address form to document modifications to account addresses.
If you change your address, please click here to get the form, fill it out (it's a .pdf file that allows you to type information onto it), print it out and mail or carry it to Bethlehem Teachers FCU.
The federal government’s "red flag rules" push financial institutions to...
- Make sure that people are who they say they are
- Detect, prevent and mitigate Identity Theft in connection with the opening of certain accounts or existing accounts
...according to a Federal Trade Commission report. This includes, but is not limited to address changes.
Financial institutions and creditors are putting in safeguards to prevent fraudsters from trying to apply for credit in someone else's name or hijack someone else's accounts.
Often, these fraudsters start by changing a legitimate individual’s account address without account holder knowledge.
By using an official Address Change form, we can document address changes and be more certain that our members are protected. Click here for an account Address Change form. |
