75th Anniversary CelebrationCelebrate Our 75th Anniversary! Our credit union was started in 1935, so we’ll be reaching back in time to focus on some of those history events that occurred that year. Throughout the year we’ll be offering fun activities to celebrate our 75th Anniversary.
1935: The Good and the BadThe Good: Bethlehem Teachers Federal Credit Union began in 1935—something so good, it's still here today. The Bad: The American Midwest was hit with a heat wave and the great dust bowl in the summer of 1935. On July 24th 1935, the Dust Bowl heat wave reached its peak, sending temperatures to 109°F (44°C) in Chicago, Illinois and 104°F (40°C) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We don't think it will be that hot here in Bethlehem on Friday, July 23, 2010, but we plan to help members beat the heat for a while. When members visit the credit union between 1pm-5pm on Friday, July23rd, they’ll receive a free ice pop (while supplies last).
Iron Pigs Contest WinnerCongratulations to Mr. Jan Frye of Bethlehem, winner of our 75th Anniversary Iron Pigs Baseball promotion. During June, members who made a deposit could enter to win tickets to see the Iron Pigs. (Actual prize was a $50 Iron Pigs gift card that could be redeemed for tickets at the game of choice.) We randomly drew a name from all entries on July 1st. Mr. Frye was pleased to have won as he is an avid baseball fan and looks forward spending time at Coca-Cola Park to watch the Iron Pigs play ball! Don’t forget to check our website often for updates and details on all of our 75th Anniversary programs! |
